Reservation&Cancellation


Do I have to make reservation?

Walk in is available when it is not busy. But making reservation in advance during busy period like March, April, November, December or weekend or national holidays is always recommended.

No sure which plan to choose, what to do?

Changing plans is available on your visiting day. Maybe you can choose a plan you are interested when you make a reservation. (Please make sure the number of people who needs the service, cancellation on the day will cost cancellation fee)

Can I cancel my reservation?

For [kimono rental service] :
Cancellation costs no charge until 6pm on the day before your reservation.
Cancellation made after that will cause a cancellation charge. (3,300JPY / person)

For [Photo service] :
Cancellation costs no charge until 6pm 3 days before your reservation.
Cancellation made after that will cause a cancellation charge. (10,000JPY / session)

Will there be any penalty for cancellation?

Can I change the date or number of people?

For [kimono rental service] :
Date or other content can be changed until 6pm on the day before your reservation. Kimono plans can be changed on the day you visit.

For [Photo service] : Please contact us to cancel the original reservation and then send us another request.

We are big group (over 10 or 20 people), is that OK?

Service for big group is available. If your time is limited, please let us know what time do you want to be ready in advance.

Kimono Rental


How long can I wear the kimono? I only have 1 hour, can I get it cheaper?

Rental is available from your reserved time until 6pm of the day. Price of short time rental is the same as the regular price.

How long does it take to wear a kimono?

From your visit until you get ready it takes around 45-70mins, it also depends on the time of choosing and the season.

I don’t speak Japanese, is that OK?

Inside our shop we have introduction in English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, which will help you with your experience. Our staff speak little English, and will try our best to help.

Can I do it on rainy day?

Rental for rainy or snowy day is available. We may not be open for a very bad weather day such as typhoon.

Do you have big size kimono?

In the Select plan, we have max 3L for ladies, Max 4L for gentlemen.

Can I bring my own kimono?

We are sorry that our service is only for our own kimonos.
Bringing boots, inner wear or other small accessories is OK.

Do you accept pregnant costumer?

Sorry we do not accept pregnant costumers. And we are not responsible for any problem occurred to the pregnant costumer if we are not informed about the pregnancy.

Do you do make up?

Sorry we do not have make up service.

Return & Compensation


When should I return?

Please return before 6pm.
Extra fee will be charged when return later than 6pm.

What if I was late for 6pm?

Please return before 6pm. Extra fee will be charged when return later than 6pm.
Extra fee will be 550 JPY per 15min per person. If return later than 7pm, we will be closed so please return on the next day. (Next day fee will be charged too)

Can I return on the next day?

Yes, it’s possible to return on the next day. Next day return fee will be charged in this case, it will be 2000JPY/person. (next day return fee will be higher for some of the kimono plans, such as Furisode)
Next day return should not be later than 12pm. Charge will be double the rental fee when returning later than 12pm.
Compensation will be needed for some of the kimonos such as Furisode or Homongi.

Can I return by delivery?

Sorry we stopped delivery return service at the moment.

What if I broke the kimono? or made it dirty?

When customer causing a unfixable damage, dirt, blood, tobacco burn to the kimono, 7000 JPY will be charged as penalty. Please treat our kimono carefully. (Charge can be higher for Furisode plan, Homongi plan, Togetsu plan).

Luggage & Lost Property


What to do with my own luggage such as cloth and shoes?

We will keep your cloth and shoes in the shop until your return. Keeping each suit case, stroller, or any bag that has one side longer than 30cm will cost 550yen.
*We do not keep and be responsible for any valuable belongings such as money, PC, camera etc in the luggage, please do not leave any valuable belongings in your luggage.

What if I forgot my stuff?

We do only keep the lost property for 1 week.
We do not have delivery service for lost properties, so please visit us within 1 week.
Lost property will not be available after 1 week.

Payment


How do I pay?

Sorry that we do only accept cash for now. If you do not have enough cash, please go to the train station(1mins walk from our shop) and find the ATM or money exchange machine.

When do I pay?

Please pay after getting ready and before going out.

Photo Session


Can I choose photographer?

Our photographers have complicated schedules, so choosing photographer is not available for now.

Can the location be somewhere else but not Arashiyama?

For now the photo service is only available for Arashiyama area.

How do you count the time?

Time starts count when you get the first location.
For example: If you booked a 60mins photoshoot, you will meet the photographer at our shop, and then head to the bamboo forest in 15mins. Photoshoot starts when you get to the bamboo forest and last for 60mins. The first 15mins (shop to bamboo forest) will not be count, but the walking time after that will be count until the photoshoot ends.

When do I get the photos?

Photos will be delivered 7-8days after the photoshoot. It may take longer during the spring and autumn season.

How do you deliver the photos?

We will deliver the photo data by google photos or other could service.

When is the OFF day?

We do not have OFF day for now. But we may be off when the weather is extremely bad such as storm or typhoon.

How do I get there?

You can take:
1.Randen railway, get off at Arashiyama station, and walk 1min.
2.JR, get off at Saga arashiyama station, get out from south gate, and walk 10mins.
3.Hankyu, get off at Arashiyama station, and walk 10mins.
4.Bus, get off at Sagatenryuji station, and walk 10mins.

Is there parking near the shop?

Sorry we do not have a parking space, but there Is coin parking around the shop.
